Finally Saw Doctor
It took a ride in an abulance, but I finally saw a doctor and have been going through a bunch of tests from blood work to MRI. Looks like high blood pressure, but not on medication yet. He wants to wait until all tests are in. I’ve been having the nurse at work test my blood pressure every morning and she is keeping a log I can take to my doctor. It is better than it was last Thursday, but I’ve been really careful about what I eat.
I am joining the Family Y and plan on going 2-3 times a week. I put my foot down and told hubby this is what I have to do. If he has a problem with it, then he’ll have to deal. So far he has not done anything to help support me. Keeps cooking stuff I can’t eat. So I wind up scrounging for something else that is low in sodium. So I’m going to buy stuff for myself and segregate it in an area for ME. If anyone touches it, I’m cutting their hands off. LOL
Sorry to hear your hubby isn’t helping you out any yet. It would help you tremendously if he would. Best of luck to you!

Hey girl, my man doesn’t support my weightloss efforts too. I agree with you, put your foot down and do what you have to do so you can be healthy.
Segregating your food is a great idea. Make meals and snacks that’s right for you. I do the same thing - I cook for myself and eat with my honey (he’s skinny so he eats fatty food).
Good luck!

Hi Melissa,

I think isolating your menu from the family’s is a good idea too. I’ve created a short list of 6-7 different, easy-to-cook meals that I can make for myself whenever I need to. I keep the ingredients on hand and can make one anytime I want to avoid the calories of the family meal.
Stay with it! I hope your doctor gets everything ironed out soon.
heya, my b/f is totally against my weightloss, so I’m doing it anyway without telling him. It’s tough trying to do it by yourself. But in a way, you’re not alone. Once you’ve got internet access, you have us all here at BS to support you!
I concur with everyone else. You have to do what you have to do for you. As for the doctors visit…. Sometimes we all need a little nudge to keep us on track. I will pray that that’s all this is, a reminder. I pray that this is nothing more than that. Keep up the good work.
Everyone has it right. No matter what..you have to take care of yourself…who’s gonna suffer if your health fails…you. So, stick to your guns girl…lets hope your hubby will get with it and support you just as you need it. God bless..Debbie
